The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is an excellent choice if you're in the market for a two-row crossover with plenty of storage space at the rear. Mitsubishi equips this SUV with a solid powertrain that gets the job done on city roads and on the highway.
But it's the interior aspects of this vehicle that really stand out, including an impressive array of infotainment features and several trim options so you can pick your preferred level of luxury. Our team of Eclipse Cross experts here at Boardman Mitsubishi has provided an overview of the key interior benefits you should look out for.
What's New for 2024?

Mitsubishi fully redesigned the Eclipse Cross for the 2022 model year, so we're not expecting major changes for 2024. However, some significant updates could feature. For example, a new trim may add dark accents, black wheels, and skid plates. Many popular features will remain the same, such as the optional synthetic suede or leather seats, premium stereos, and an optional sunroof.
Boardman Mitsubishi should be your first stop in Youngstown, Ohio, for the latest news about the 2024 Eclipse Cross. As more details become available about any other updates Mitsubishi may include, we'll add them to this page. 2024 Eclipse Cross Interior
The Eclipse Cross offers seating for five people across two rows. Both the front and rear rows have plenty of legroom for adult passengers. If you need to install kids' seating, you'll find two sets of Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children, or LATCH, connectors on the outermost rear seats. The standard cabin includes cloth upholstery and automatic climate control for improved comfort. Various optional upgrades are available as you go up through the trim ladder, such as leather upholstery and power-adjustments for the front seats.
With a full load of passengers, you'll find about 23 cubic feet of storage space at the rear. That's enough for a large grocery order or a few suitcases for a weekend trip out of town. If you don't need the rear row for passengers, you can fold it flat to open up over 50 cubic feet of cargo area. This is ideal if you need to transport bulkier household items. It's also worth remembering that the Eclipse Cross has a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds, which should be enough for a teardrop camper or small trailer.
Eclipse Cross Infotainment and Driver Safety Tech
The standard touch screen for controlling your infotainment options has a 7-inch display. You'll also benefit from a four-speaker stereo so you can enjoy your favorite podcasts or music. Additional standard infotainment features include Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port, and HD radio. You can step up to smartphone compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which allows you to link your phone more easily with your crossover's infotainment system.
A larger touch screen measuring 8 inches is another upgrade option. You can choose from two stereos: a six-speaker or eight-speaker unit. Additional upgrades include a navigation system, satellite radio, and extra USB ports.
Driver safety is a big part of all modern SUVs, and the Eclipse Cross doesn't disappoint. The base trim includes several features designed to assist you in an emergency, including pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking. You also get lane departure warning to help you stay on the right track when you're traveling at highway speeds. You can add a head-up display in order to keep track of your Mitsubishi's performance indicators without taking your eyes off the road up ahead.
The surround-view parking camera can give you an aerial view of the Eclipse Cross as you maneuver it into a tight parking spot. Adaptive cruise control automatically adjusts your speed on the highway so that you maintain a safe distance from other vehicles. Other options include rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
2024 Eclipse Cross Trims
There are four trims to choose from in the 2024 Eclipse Cross lineup, although some reports suggest that Mitsubishi might add a fifth trim. It may model this new addition on the Black Edition released for the Japanese market in 2023, but we'll have to wait until the new Eclipse Cross hits our showroom later this year to know more. The current trims we know for sure about are ES, LE, SE, and SEL.
A 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine powers all trims. It's paired to a continuously variable transmission, puts out 152 horsepower, and manages up to 28 mpg on the highway.
The base ES trim has a starting price of just over $26,000, making it a sensible choice for anyone looking to get behind the wheel of a crossover on a modest budget. Stepping up to the LE trim adds smartphone compatibility, the larger touch screen, and heated front seats. You'll also benefit from extra USB ports so you can connect your electronic devices. The SE trim features a more upscale cabin, with synthetic suede upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and a six-speaker stereo. One optional upgrade package adds a sunroof and roof rails.
The SEL trim is the top Eclipse Cross currently on offer. You gain genuine leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and a power-adjustable passenger's seat. The Touring package includes an automatic dimming rearview mirror, heated rear seats, the eight-speaker stereo, and the head-up display.
