Coming into a new model year, Mitsubishi has announced a few exciting changes for the 2023 model series. There’ll be an all-new Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), an active all-wheel-drive system included standard across the lineup and some new special editions that alter the interior and exterior. It’s a better time than ever to find the right new or like-new pre-owned model from this dependable automaker. Check out everything we know so far in this overview of the 2023 Mitsubishi models.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV near Youngstown Ohio.jpgSay hello to the all-new, much-anticipated PHEV of Mitsubishi’s award-winning SUV. The 2023 Outlander PHEV shares the styling, flexible interior, plush seating, and other benefits of the gasoline Outlander, but the new level of twin-motor PHEV 4WD has been upgraded significantly. The 2023 model gets more powerful front and rear motors and a larger battery pack, producing around 35 to 40 miles of all-electric range. What’s more, the gas tank is larger, expanding the total available driving range from both sides.

Like the rest of the 2023 lineup, all trim levels provide a new Super All-Wheel Control system (S-AWC), the most advanced system on a Mitsubishi to date. You can switch in and out of seven driving modes for snow, wet roads, and more. According to the setting chosen, S-AWC can watch the wheel speed and yaw sensors, adjusting engine torque and braking force on each wheel at any given moment.

As for infotainment changes, Mitsubishi Connect will be standard on the Outlander and the PHEV version for 2023, with a free two-year trial. This system will add several useful telematic features to help you check on and optimize your vehicle’s performance. It was also upgraded to feature remote start on all trim levels.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander

It’s no surprise that one of the best-selling Mitsubishi models returns once again, but now with the new S-AWC system on all trims. In addition, a new Ralliart trim level will be available on the Outlander Sport. Inspired by the Mitsubishi high-performance motorsports division of the same name, this special edition adds exterior touches inspired by an off-road rally, along with matching graphics and other changes.

The Black Edition is back from 2022, set to release in mid-year 2023 and available as an optional exterior upgrade for SE or SEL trim levels. However, you should expect the Ralliart and a new 40th Anniversary special edition to arrive sooner. As for other changes from the 2022 Outlander, power-folding side mirrors are standard on the SE, and rear door sunshades are now standard on the SEL, no longer requiring the Touring package. For those who want the most unique-looking Outlander, the last addition available is a unique White Diamond color with an exclusive black roof on Ralliart models.

2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

The Outlander Sport has two rows instead of three and is slightly more compact and economical than the Outlander. Overall, it’s another worthwhile choice alongside other Mitsubishi SUVs. For 2023, all trim levels will come with Mitsubishi S-AWC and offer the Ralliart edition.

2023 Mirage and Mirage G4

The Mirage is one of the most fuel-efficient subcompact vehicles, a great fit for newer drivers or those with a tighter budget. As for new plans, the Mirage gets a Ralliart special trim level that’ll release in early 2023. With the 2022 edition, the Black Edition replaced the Carbonite Edition, which may make a return in 2023.

The G4 takes the Mirage’s hatchback approach and re-shapes it for the sedan market. The Mirage G4 has slightly better fuel economy, while the standard Mirage’s hatchback style leads to the most interior space. In either case, these competitive compact Mitsubishi vehicles are back and have an even higher value than ever. Like the 2023 Mirage, the Mirage G4 offers a continuously variable transmission across all trim levels, which was previously standard on all models except the starting Mirage ES.

2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross

Another recent arrival, the 2023 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, gets some appealing visual changes as part of a mid-generation refresh. The chiseled front and rear design motifs are slightly adjusted to match the revised interior. The infotainment system has been updated, and the wheels are a new 18-inch design with color-keyed trim. Compared to 2022, LED headlights and fog lights are now standard on every trim level, and like the rest of the lineup, S-AWC is standard.

Other Updates for 2023

As noted, the Outlander, the Sport and PHEV, and the Eclipse Cross and Mirage will come equipped with a Ralliart special edition. These Ralliart models will also be available in an extraordinary White Diamond paint job, set to contrast against an all-black roof. For 2023, the Outlander Sport compact crossover and the subcompact Mirage will receive minor updates. Meanwhile, the Mirage G4 sedan is the only one of the five models that won’t have a Ralliart special edition, at least for now.

Like every new model year, these 2023 Mitsubishi cars come with the automaker’s powertrain warranty of 10 years or 100,000 miles, the seven-year and 100,000-mile corrosion warranty, and a five-year or 60,000-mile limited warranty. The Mitsubishi five-year roadside assistance is also included, perfect when you need a tire changed, get locked out, or face other inconvenient situations on the road.
