Mill Creek MetroParks

Mill Creek MetroParks was the first park district established in Ohio. With over ten facilities in Mill Creek Park and over 5,000 acres to explore, you can have a new destination each day for an entire week and still have something left over to do. A popular attraction at Mill Creek is the many lakes and ponds in the area.
The oldest of Mill Creek Park's lakes is a local favorite that photographs well—Lake Cohasset. Built in 1897 and known for its hemlocks, the 28-acre lake is ideal for nature watching. Those who are serious about birding can sit in a secluded area all day and enjoy gazing at the many feathered friends that stop in for a drink or a bath.
Another favorite is Lily Pond. A popular spot since 1896, local waterfowl and goldfish have made this lovely lake their home. Enjoy a stroll along the quarter-mile Lily Pond Circle Trail that loops around the entire pond and features several opportunities to enjoy the local wildlife. Although fishing is not permitted here, the new floating boardwalk and two observation decks make this a popular destination for animal lovers. Horticulturists often enjoy studying the native vegetation and the seasonal changes in the area.
MetroParks Farm is a 402-acre working farm that promotes agriculture through educational programs, public tours, and several display areas. If you have children, take them to the natural playground and the seasonally open Adventure Barn. Here, they'll learn about agriculture with interactive displays, play learning games, and participate in activities to enhance their learning. Plan your visit and take a picnic lunch to enjoy at the tables available inside. Before you leave, snap a photo in front of the massive barn doors to use as your new social media profile picture.
Check out the MetroParks website for a complete calendar of programs and events. You can also join the mailing list to get updates on the latest Ohio news.
